Classroom Policies
Week of 6/7
Homework due Monday 6/7 A day. Complete Chapter 16 of Shoftim.Bring all of your materials for the Jeopardy\ Trivia game. * See Homework 6\3 E day.
Week of 5/31
Homework due 6/3 E day- Make sure that you have completed chapters 14 and 15 in the book of Shoftim.
Tuesday 6/1 C day- we will continue the story of Samson and attempt to conclude the unit.
Thursday 6/3 E day- Come to class prepared with all of your notes and handouts on the book of Shoftim. We will work in groups to create our Jeopardy/Trivia game. You will be graded on the questions that you create.
Week of 5/24
Homework Due 5/27 Thursday- Chapter 13 of Shoftim.
On Tuesday 5/25 E day we will begin studying the shofet Sampson.
On Thursday 5/27 A day Randy Frank will present Parshat Bahalotcha.
Week of 5/17
Tuesday 5/18- announced quiz on Chapter 11 (Yiftach) Shoftim. We will then begin studying the Shofet Sampson.
On Friday 5/21 Sam Chast will present Parshat Naso.
Week of 5/10
Homework due Thursday 5/13- Complete the packet on Yiftach. Be prepared for a possible pop quiz.
Danny Nelson will present Parshat Bamidbar on Friday.
Week of 5/3
Homework due Friday 5/7 A day: Complete questions 5-8 in your Chapter 11 Yiftach packet. (verses 12-29 and 32-33)
Ethan Einhorn will present Parsha after we check the homework.
In preparation for class on Wednesday 5/5 E day, read the first 10 pesukim in Chaptere 11 of sefer Shoftim, the story of Yiftach.
Week of 4/26
Homework due 4/28 B day- Summarize Shoftim Chapter 8 - verses 28-35 . (The final portion of Gideon's life.)
On Wednesday 4/28 we will have a review for the upcoming quiz on Chapters 6 and 7 of Shoftim.
On Thursday 4/29 B' day- Max Sugarman will present Parashat Emor.
On Friday 4/30 C day - Quiz on Chapters 6 and 7 of Shoftim.
Homework due Monday 4/26 F day- complete the 2 sided handout on Chapter 7 of Shoftim.
Week of 4/8
Homework due 4/8 "A" day complete the 1st two pages of the Chapter 6 Shoftim packet on Gideon ( verses 1-10)
Week of 3/22
On Tuesday 3/23 E day - Quiz which will include:
1. the cycle of the Shoftim
2.chapters 3 and 4- be familiar with the information on both handouts.
3. Be able to list 2 similarities in the Song of Devorah and the Song of Moshe and 2 differences in the two songs.
If you would like to study meet me in room 52 D break or D lunch. Let me know if your coming.
After the quiz we will begin Chapter 6 :"Gideon the Judge".
Week of 3/15
Wednesday 3/17 A day- each group will present their poster to the remainder of the class. We will then begin Chapter 6 of Shoftim.
On Friday 3/19 : C day -Randy Frank will present the Parsha.
Week of 3/8
On Wednesday 3/11 C day we will work in groups on creating posters which will illustrate as well as compare and contrast the song of Devorah with the song of Moshe.
Week of 3/15
Monday 3/15 E day- each group will present their poster to the remainder of the class.We will then begin Chapter 6 of Shoftim.
On Friday 3/19 : C day -Randy Frank will present the Parsha.
Week of 3/1
We will begin Chapter 4 in Shoftim (Devorah the Judge). There will be homework due on Friday 3/5.
Week of 2/8
The open note quiz on the remaining chapters of Yehoshua has been postponed until Tuesday 2/9 B day. I will be doing a note check on Monday 2/8 A day in preparation for the quiz. Students should have class notes for chapters 11- 24.
We will begin our study of the book of Shoftim on Tuesday February 16th E day.
Week of 2/1
- Overview of the remaining chapters of Yehoshua. (Chapter 11 thru the end of the book.) Students are responsible for taking notes during class on each of these chapters. There will be an open note quiz on either Thursday 2/4 E day or Monday 2/8 A day. Students need to be up to date with their notes. I will be doing a note check on Tuesday 2/2 C day.
Week of 1/18
Quiz Wednesday January 20th- Sefer Yehoshua Chapter 8- verses 30-35 and the entire Chapter 9. We had a review in class on Tuesday.
Week of 1/11/10
Last week we completed chapter 8 with a lively discussion about the various curses and blessings which were stated as the 12 tribes stood on two different mountains.On Monday we will begin Chater 9 in Yehoshua.
Homework due 1/12: answer questions 1-4 (pesukim 1-15)on the chapter 9 handout.
Homework 1/13- Complete the last 2 questions in the Chapter 9 packet. They are both opinion questions based on the text. In addition Michael Levinwill present the Parsha.
Week Of 12/21
We completed the 2nd portion of Chapter 8 of Yehoshua and had a quiz

Homework due 12/8: Compare and Contrast Chapter 7 in sefer Yehoshua (The Herem Story)toShmot chapter 32 ( The Golden Calf Story)
We will complete Chapter 7 and move on to Chapter 8 the 2nd battle of Ai.
