Trimester Hebrew Test: 6/10 D day and 6/11 E day
Week of 5/31
Homework due 6/2- complete the homework question on the seif 25 handout.
There will be one night's homework due on Tuesday 6/1 "C"day. There will be a voice e mail assignment due on Thursday 6/3 "E" day based on seif 25. I will explain this assignment on Friday 5/28 "B" day.In addition I will also explain the homework due on 6/1.
Week of 5/24
Homework due 5/24 write 6 sentences from seif 21 vocabulary. Complete activities 1 and 2 on the back of the seif 21 handout that was given out in class.
Week of 5/17
Homework due Tuesday 5/18 B day- (seif 20)Complete the poster according to the example. Write the text on a seperate sheet of paper.
During this week we will study the communicative skills that exist among animals.
Week of 5/3
Homework due Wednesday 5/5 E day- seif 18- reread the story which describes the meaning of a true friend. Answer the question at the bottom of the page: Which of the four descriptions best matches the essence of the story. Be prepared to discuss this in class.

Homework due Wednesday 4/28 B day- Write the letter based on the song in seif 11.
Quiz sefeim 1-18 vocabulary- Friday 4/30- C day.
Homework due on Monday 4/26 F day: Handout based on seif 13.
Voice e -mail due Tuesday 4/27 A day by 8:00pm- based on seif 13- page 11 the 2nd half of the page choose one of the four conversations and record yourself reading it with correct pronounciation.

Wednesday 4/21 "C" day-Vocabulary quiz sefeim 1-10
In addition all outstanding homework is due by today. We will study seif 13 on the use of cell phones as communication.
Week of 4/12
Homework due Wedneday 4/14 "E" day: Write six sentences with the vocabulary from sefeim 7 and 8. In addition compose five sentences from the table in seif 7 in your Choveret.
Week of 4/8
Homework due 4/9 B day- based on seif one write a paragraph about which mode of communication you like best. You may choose from a letter, note, voice message , or an article from a newspaper.
Week of 3/22
Homework due 3/24 - Answer the question at the end of the Pesach Story. Write 5 sentences.
On Monday we will complete the Pesach story. We will then begin Choveret 4.
Week of 3/15
The time capsule project is due on Monday 3/15 "E" day. Each student's oral presentation should take between 3 and 5 minutes. See week of 3/8 for instructions. After the presentations are completed we will begin- Choveret 4.
On Tuesday 3/16 we will complete seif 42. The handout on this seif may need to be completed for homework due Thursday 3/18 B day.We will likely begin Choveret 4 on 3/18 also.

After the trimester Hebrew test students will be working on a project to build a time capsule in which they place at least five of their most favorite and important possessions. Each student will orally present their time capsule to the class. A grading rubric will be distributed
Trimester Hebrew Test: 3/5 F day and 3/9 B day- Instructions and review sheets were given out on 2/24 E day.
Week of 3/1
Homework due Monday 3/1 - seif 35 read the story "History" Repeats Itself" and complete the questions in the handout.
Week of 2/16
Homework due Friday 2/19 B day
Research another endangered species that will not exist in another 100 years. Write five sentences about it in Hebrew. You may find the information on the internet or in an encyclopedia. In addition come to class with a suggestion of a winter olympic winter sport that we can follow as a class and report about in Hebrew.
Week of 2/8
Homework due 2/9 B day- handout on noun sentences in the past, present, and future. On Tuesday I will give a homework assignment to the 8th grade which will be due on Thursday2/11. The 9th grade will do this assignment on C day during class time.
2/10 C day- The 8th grade will be out on a chesed trip
Voice E Mail # 3- due on Thursday 2/11 D day- based on seif 30 (page 27)1. Write an invitation note. Use the form given as your base and then add 8 more noun sentences in the future (2 masculine singular, 2 feminine singular, and four in the plural form.) 2. record your note and e-mail it to me. You may come to me to review your note before recording.
Quiz sefeim 17-31 - Tuesday February 16th E day (review sheet will be given out on Thursday 2/11)
Week of 2/1
In class on 2/1 B day we will be working in partners to review seif 22 which was introduced on Thursday. I will e-mail you with the list of partners. Make sure that you review the new vocabulary words which were written on the board on Thursday. A handout of questions was given out on Thursday. Each pair needs to answer the questions in written form. If you were absent on Thursday come and see me on Friday 1/29 A Lunch.
Students who need to retake the pop quiz on the conjugation of the definate direct object "ET" must do so at C break in room 56 or in test makeup @ lunch in room 206. There will be a new quiz on the ET conjugation given during class on Thurdsay 2/4 E day.
Tuesday 2/2 C day.-Students will have 15 minutes to complete and submit seif 22. Pairs will continue to work together in orde to punctuate seif 23 and divide it into 3 parts. Seif 24 is homework. Complete according to the instructions.
Wednesday 2/3 - D day - Introduction of noun sentences in the future tense.
Thursday 2/4 -E day quiz #2 on the conjugation of "ET".
Week of 1/18
During this week we will be studying the conjugation of the definite direct object :"ET". On B day students will work on packets which will reinforce the use of the "ET" conjugation.The last page of the packet will be for homework due on Friday 1/22 C day.
Week of 1/11/10
Quiz 1/12/10 B day: Vocabulary sefeim 1-16 and noun sentences in present and past tense.
Take Home Quiz on noun sentences in the past due 1/13/10 C day. In addition read in english Parshat Noach chapters 6-9 in Breisheit in order to prepare for group work tomorrow.
Voice e-mail #2 due before class on D day 1/14/09: Seif 14 page 11- choose one of the three dialogues and send it as a voice e-mail. Vary your voice tone so that both people don't sound alike. Watch your pronounciation and practice 3 times before recording.
Week of 1/4/10
Homework due 1/5 " C" day:
1. Write four sentences from sefeim 4 , 9 and 10.
2. Draw or find a picture within a picture on the internet and print it out. (see the examples in seif 11)
Week of 12/21
Voice e-mail based on vocalizing the last six lines of seif 5.Due 12/23 A day
Homework due 1/4/10- "B" day- Based on seif 5 write a similar paragraph about a Photagrapher writing about another place such as the mall, a park, or a musuem. (the paragragh needs to be a minimum of 8 lines.)

12/8 C day- We will study the story "Ofek in class"
12/9 D day- Part two of the Hebrew Test
12/10 E day- We will begin Choveret 3: Shamor V' Zachor

Week Of 11/30
We are studying seif 46, which is the short story ofek. Students should read the text at home in order to be prepared to participate in class.
12/2 F day- We will go over the instructions for the Book 2 test.
