Preparedness

  • Students are expected to be on time for class, seated and ready to work when the second bell rings. Lateness policies will be strictly enforced.
  • Each student is expected to bring a text book, assignment book, 2 pencils, and a folder with 2 pockets for holding homework and classroom assignments, as well as handouts.  Literature class must also bring a dictionary.
  • Male students must wear a kippah during all class sessions.
  • A student who comes to class without any of the above required items or is late to class will be considered as unprepared. Lateness to class will have a negative input on the grade.

Behavior

  • Students should show respect to the teacher, their peers, other people’s property and school property. It is the student’s responsibility to keep the classrooms, hallways and their lockers clean and orderly.
  • Every student must pay attention and follow along in class.  This includes no doodling.
  • Students are not allowed to eat, drink or chew gum during class sessions.

Homework and Grades

  • The student’s grades will consist of quizzes, projects, homework assignments, compositions, class participation and the final exam.  Literature class will also have book reports included in the grade.
  • Each assignment must include a heading which includes your name, the class, the date, the page number (if it is from the book) and the title.
  • Students shall hand in their homework assignments at the beginning of the session. Homework handed in at the end of the session or the next session will be penalized 20% from the deserved grade. Any homework assignments handed in two days after the due date will not be accepted and the grade for that particular assignment will be zero.
  • Students are responsible to make up work for any missed class, and come prepared for the next class.  Tests, quizzes and any other assignments are expected to be made up on the day of the student’s return to school.  Any other arrangements should be discussed directly with the teacher.
