Week of 5/31

Homework due 6/2- D day-Each group should be prepared to dramatize and act out their spcific monologue. In addition answer the question on the seif 25 handout.

Homework due Tuesday 6/1 C day-  written assignment based on seif 25.

There will be a voice e mail due no later than 6/4 F day before Shabbat based on seif 25. I will explain the assignment in class on 5/28.

Week of 5/24

Homework due Thurday 5/27 A day- write 5 "Did you know thats" based on seif 21. There will be a Pop Quiz on Seif 21 vocabulary. Hint ! Hint!

Homework due Friday 5/28 B day- seif 22 - based on the table write a paragraph summarizing the ceremonies of the elephants.

Homework due Monday 5/24- Complete the poem in seif 20. Write 8 sentences with the vocabulary from sefeim 20 and 21.

Week of 5/17

Have a great time at the Prom and have a wonderful Shavuot. I look forward to seeing you on Friday.

On Friday 5/21 we will begin studying the communication that takes place among animals.

On Monday 5/17 A day we will complete listening to the song in seif 19. In addition come to class prepared to talk orally about your prom plans,here are some ideas:

1. Who are you going with?

2. How are you getting there?

3.What are you wearing?

4. Where are you meeting before the prom?/or where are you going after the prom?

Homework due 5/4- D day- write the letter based on seif 11, the song about partners that we listened to in class. In addition write 5 sentences from sefeim 15 and 17.

Friday 5/7 A day- Vocabulary quiz: sefeim 1-18.

On Wednesday 4/21 "C" daywe will study seif 9, which explores writing notes as a means of communication.

Friday 4/23 "E" day vocabulary quiz sefeim 1-10.

Homework due 4/12: Based on seif 1 write an eight sentence paragraph about which mode of communication you like best: letter writing, note writing, listening to voice messages, or reading news articles.(choose 1)

Homework due 4/8 "A" write sentences with the new vocabulary words from Choveret 4- seif 1.

Week of 3/22

On Monday 3/22 we will begin Choveret 4.

Week of 3/15

The time capsule project will be due on Monday 3/15 E day. Each student will make a 3-5 minute oral presentation. See week of 3/8 for more detailed instructions. After the presentations we will complete seif 42 with an accompanying handout. If needed it will be completed as homework due on Wednesday 3/17 A day.

On 3/17 A day in class we will complete Choveret 3 with the reading of a story related to the Holocaust. For the remainder of the week we will be studying literature related to Pesach. On Friday we will bid farewell to the seniors. Our Study of Choveret 4 will begin on Monday 3/22  D day.

Week of 3/8

After the trimester Hebrew test students will be working on a project to build a time capsule in which they place at least five of their most favorite and important possessions. Each student will orally present their time capsule to the class. A grading rubric will be distributed.

Trimester Hebrew Test: 3/4 E day and 3/8 A day.

Instructions and vocabulary review will be distributed on Friday 2/26 A day.

Week of 2/8

Voice E Mail #3 due Thursday 2/11 D day- based on seif 30(page 27) 1.Write an invitation note using noun sentences in the future tense. Use the form note given as your base and insert 8 additional sentences: two masculine singular, two feminine singular, and four in the plural form. 2. record your note and e-mail it to me. You may come to me prior to the due date to review your written note before recording.

Homework due 2/9 B day- handout on noun sentences in the past, present, and future.

Homework due 2/10 C day- fill in the blanks in seif 31 using the word bank.

Quiz: sefeim 17 -31- Tuesday February 16th E day. (review sheet will be given out on Thursday 2/11)

Week of 2/1

Homework due 2/2 C day- handout on seif 22.

On Tuesday with partners we will work on the punctuation of seif 23. We will then divide the paragraph into 3 parts. Seif 24 will be for homework according to the instructions.

We will then inroduce noun sentences in the future tense.

Thursday 2/4 E day- quiz #2on the conjugation of ET.

Week of 1/18

We are currently studying the conjugation of the definate direct object "ET".

Week of 1/11/10

Homework due 1/11 A day: Read the dialogues in seif 14 page 11and be prepared to act them out in class.

1/12 B day: Quiz on vocabulary sefeim 1-16 and noun sentences in the present and past tense. In addition read chapters 6-9 in Breisheit (the story of Noach), in order to prepare for group work tomorrow.

1/13 C day: Take home quiz due on noun sentences in the past tense. I will go over the instructions in class om Monday.

1/14 D day- voice e-mail #2- seif 14 -page 11- choose one of the three dialogues and send it as a voice e-mail. You must vary your voice between the two characters. Practice your reading at least 3 times before recording.

Week of 1/4/10

Homework due 1/5 "C" day - Seif 10- Read the Pasuk from Pirkei Avot.

Homework due 1/4/10 B day:

1. 9 sentences based on the vocabulary of sefeim 2,4, 9, and 10

2. create your own optical illusion or find one on the internet and print it out- (based on seif 11)

Week of 12/7

We will complete the trimester Hebrew test on Tuesday.

12/9 D day- We will welcome the returning Muss Students to class. Classroom policies will be given out.The new class will begin studying Choveret 3 "Shamor V' Zachor".

Trimester Book Two Test- 12/7 B day and 12/8 C day.

Week of 11/30- We are studying seif 46, the story entitled Ofek. Test insructions will be reviewed on Thursday 12/3 A day.
